Growing up in Norway, Hanne was an avid skiier and lover of the Winter Olympics (the best kind of Olympics) as well as occasionally being the voice of Norwegian Sesame Street. But then she moved to London to go to university and got more interested in pubs and pursuing a career in advertising.
What was meant to be 3 years in London turned into 15, and in those years she graduated with a degree in Marketing, met a nice Englishman called Harry, adopted a dog from Romania and spent 7 years working at Wieden + Kennedy on a range of FMCG brands, with some retail and telco thrown into the mix. The work she did there that she’s particularly proud of is the ‘Cats with Thumbs’ campaign for Cravendale Milk. It won some awards (including ‘Ad of the Year’ voted for by the British public), but more importantly, was a commercial success, and also meant she got to meet the cat from the Harry Potter films. She also launched the world’s first and only iPhone game controlled by chewing for Stride Gum, and spent 1 month doing a placement with a NGO in Uganda helping them develop their communications strategy.
In 2016, Hanne, Harry and Charlie the dog, decided that Sydney was the place to be, so packed their bags, shipped all of their belongings, stocked up on sunscreen and set sail. They now all reside in Surry Hills and love exploring their new city and attempting to surf.
